Taster Sessions

Before we get onto the rock climbing we take the group weaseling - moving and climbing over boulders and small rock faces to get used to how the rock feels underfoot and how grippy or not it is.  This is perfect for setting up the participants for their first climb outdoors.

Each participant will be given the opportunity to attempt multiple short climbs (typically 3-4) using different techniques and skills, as well as practicing lowering down from a climb.

Time and willingness permitting all participants will be given the opportunity to take part in an abseil.  There is no pressure to complete this, and we use multiple success criteria from successfully tying in, approaching the edge and completing the abseil.  This can be a challenging experience for any age so we celebrate every level of success.
