About the event

We meet at the finish for day 3 to leave some cars here and then drive, car sharing, to the start at Ogwen.

The Carneddau is the biggest continuous upland in Britain outside of Scotland.  Despite that, a linear traverse of the principal peaks is doable in a single long day in high summer.  Of course, in winter it's a very different proposition, since shorter daylight hours and tough conditions underfoot - which will often include snow and ice - means you work hard for every mile.  Good job we're doing it in April then!

Like a mini-Cairngorms, this part of northern Snowdonia can be an exposed and fearsome place to be.  On a clear day, however, you'll feel like you're on some mountain in the Lord of the Rings.

So, if you're looking for a memorable Easter Adventure that will linger long in the memory you can hardly do better than this 3-day epic.

You'll need - tent, food, sturdy walking boots, stove, water (ideally 2 litres and purification tablets as well), food, rucksack, suitable clothing, including waterproofs, hat and gloves.  By all means bring your own map (OS Explorer 17 or Harvey Mountain Map Snowdonia North)
