About the event

Of all the Shropshire hills, it's Caer Caradoc's ruggedness that screams climb me!  This route takes the steep ascent, but the far reaching views from its summit are worth it - much of the South Shropshire AONB can be spied from here.

The 459m summit is volcanic in origin, on the Church Stretton Fault, and was also the site of an ancient hill-fort thought to date back to the Iron Age.  The quieter return route along Hope Bowdler's ridge offers rolling views over Ape Dale and Wenlock Edge.
